Solved Video convertor and editor programs stop working.

Specs: Windows7 Professional 64, CPU Type Mobile QuadCore Intel Core i7-720QM, 2133 MHz (16 x 133) / 4GB
I have several such video converting and editing programs and all start up but within 5 to 20 seconds of hopeful progress they all stop with a screen that says :
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." (it never has done so)

I wirelessly transferred EVERYTHING (Windows and all) from my earlier Windows7 Ultimate 64 Thinkpad R61 laptop to this one (with some difficulty). Other programs work but these never have.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

I'm just thinking aloud really (and probably far too simply):

If you managed to make that transfer (masterly effort) then presumably you changed the video drivers to suit the new hardware. On similar lines I am wondering about codecs and whether you tried uninstalling and re-installing the said programs.

Have you looked at any Events showing at the times these programs fail? That might give some clue about what is going on.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I would have recommended a complete reinstall rather than a transfer.
If you have not yet, download all appropriate drivers and install them.
Uninstall and reinstall each program that is not working correctly.
(In other words, I agree with Derek)

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I can look at these logs, if help is still needed.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.

If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt).
The logs are large, upload them using this, or upload to a site of your choosing. No account needed. Give us the links please.

I am amazed! Derek's and Fingers' suggestions to reinstall those programs worked. Thank you very much. Johnw .. thank you, too, for your suggestion, which fortunately I did not have to implement.

Cheers!
