Specs: Windows 7, core i7/ 4gb
my brand new vaio vcp f134 shows the message " operating system not found " , it's been 4days and this thing has happened several times, i thought it was caused by a sick program but after recovering i didn't install any other programs in order to see if it happens again. yesterday while updating windows the same thing happened. i think there's a hardware failure. I'm worried about my MONEY not to be wasted....... help!

try a full factory restore, if that fails to fix the issue, take it back to where you bought and demand another, do not leave the store without a tried and tested replacement.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

i've done that, it keeps failing... i just wanna make sure it's not a hdd badsector 'cause the company will make me pay for the hard drive if it is caused by bad sector... and because i live in IRAN and there's no valid sony branch here, they don't care like the other countries. i bought it last week and i don't want to get conned... by the way the f10 recovery doesn't work either , i have to use the recovery DVDs which i've created to recover windows. pls give me a clue so that i can make sure it's a factory problem, so the company takes the responsibility.

Look what brand of hard drive your system has installed in it. Then go to their website and download their hard drive test utility. This will tell you the condition of the hard drive and all of it's sectors. It may even have a repair option.
If they supplied you with the hard drive and the hard drive is going or even has a bad sector, the they should replace the drive or the entire system at no charge under warranty. If you can be sure that it is the drive, you may be able to get them to mail you an new drive with windows and your drivers preloaded on it and you could just swap it out.
The restore disk may also have a disk test utility as I believe a new install disk has.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
