Using Explorer to open images.

Specs: Windows 7, P4 3.00GHz/2GB
I've just recently switched to Windows 7 from Windows XP, so I'm not quite used to how this OS works. Windows 7 opens most images by default in Windows Photo Viewer, which I dislike. I attempted to set .pngs to open in Explorer, as I did in XP, but this just causes explorer.exe to open infinitely until I restart. I have no idea why this happens, it never did in XP. I'm not sure if this happens with other file types, since I never got around to setting them to open in explorer. I've tried to set them to open in Internet Explorer, but it just then tries to open the image in Explorer. Is there any way to fix this?

Redfern, Why not just download and install one of the excellent 2 Free programs at the link below. They both handle png files and are compatable with Windows 7.
