I have my HTPC in my bedroom, and when i put the pc to sleep, the usb wireless adapter flashes slowly, its annoying and keeps me awake. Apart from putting electrical tape over the light, Is there any setting i can alter to turn this device off when in sleep mode?

It is a TP-LINK TL-WN821Nv3. I've looked thru the manual but could not find anything about turning off this light.

On many laptops there is an option to keep the USB port active while in sleep/hibernate mode. I would check the power settings in the Windows control panel or look in the utilities section of the add on programs that came with your laptop to see how to power off the USB port while in sleep mode.

You could also just unplug the device.

Its a HTPC not a laptop, Looks like I will have to resort to electrical tape.
