We need more details. Is file and print sharing enabled? Do you have other computers on a network? Is this home or business? Are you using a wireless router? Is it password protected? Is there any device that is connected that may be misinterpreted by windows as an unknown PC?

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Thank you Fingers. I can see by your answer that there could be any number of reasons why this is occuring. I am on a home pc. I connect via a wi-fi hotspot. I will check the sharing options you spoke about too. I was just worried that someone might be trying to access my stuff or something like that. Thank you for easing my concerns.

I recommend connecting fixed home computers via a hard wired option where possible. Wireless routers need to be password enabled so none of your neighbors can use your internet connection and more importantly gain access you your system. If you use a home network with more than one computer, change the name of the 'workgroup' to anything other than the windows default to increase security. If you only use one computer then also turn off 'File and Print Sharing' on your computer to make you more secure.
