Specs: Windows XP
I have upgraded my computer to windows 7, and everything has been going great for about a month! I installed uniblue registry, and it ran the scan, asked me to clear the problems out after it corrected them, then asked me to reboot! when I did, I got the screen asking if I wanted to reboot normally, in safe mode ect ect......it shows the starting windows screen, the logo appears, and then when it gets to the next screen it freezes, the num lock light is on, and I can move the mouse around, but that is it!! any suggestions on how to get it to reboot?

insert your win 7 disk and run a repair of your installation, sounds like you have deleted some important registry files..
i dont really think you need any registry clean up proggies when running win 7..just a personal opinion there ;-)

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Please try running C:\Windows\System32\rstrui.exe from a command prompt, where C: is your Windows installation directory. Change it, if not. I have not used this command before, but it should work.

Boot to Safe Mode Command Prompt and give the above command. If it does notwork, use Win 7 disk to restore ( Repair is another option ) your PC to an earlier time.

yeah I can't do that because after I boot it to any mode, be it safe mode, safe mode prompt, or regular, it eventually goes to a black screen and I cannot do anything! the disc isn't even working!

Did you craete an image of your Drive??????
When you boot, did you see a Repair computer on the menu?
You can use that or you can boot from your installation disc and click on repair computer.........after that a window will appear.........it will appear because it is from your disc...............click on repair start up bla bla bla and another window will appear.....then you follow the instaructions.................

HOPE THIS HELPS BECAUSE THIS IS WHAT I DID WHEN THAT THING HAPPENED TO MINE.................

ITS BETTER IF YOU USE TuneUp Utilities(my opinion)

it depends on what computer you have if you have a manufactured system, you will be able to press a F key and get into the factory restore app, that will allow you to set the machine back to the day you bought it, it may also offer other options..
or go here http://neosmart.net/blog/2009/windo... get a repair cd for your version of win7 and run that, you will be able to restore, from the cd or may just need a repair..
