Solved Unable to remove CD from Lenovo U400

September 1, 2013 at 06:41:49
Specs: Windows 7
I loaded the Microsoft CD onto a Lenovo U400 machine but I cannot find a release button to remove the CD. Would someone be able to let me know what I need to push to remove my diskette.

Diskette is really a floppy disk.
Go to 'Computer', right click on the icon for the CD (may show the name of the disk) and select 'Eject' from the menu.
That should work 95% of the time. If it does not, you may need to insert a straightened paperclip into the tiny hole on the CD drawer to manually release it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

✔ Best Answer
Seems it has no pinhole for this purpose. See the thoughts here:

Looks as if you either fiddle around until it somehow pops out or take the laptop apart (not nice). I assume right clicking the drive in "Computer" and selecting eject doesn't work either. You could also try pressing the manual eject button while restarting the computer.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

This worked perfect. I am use to having a button on the side. Thank you so much for your help.
