I am unable to print pdf files, specifically bank statements and Ancestry.com forms. I have reinstalled Adobe Reader X ....When the Ancestry form appears icons fade in then quickly flash off. This stream of icons has flop disc, printer, etc. When I attempt to click on the printer, nothing happens and it fades away.

If you are using the print icon on your browser or file/print from your browser, then that is your error. You need to use the print that is included in the Reader portion of the window. It can be a bar on top or it can be a phantom bar that is lower down that only shows up when you hover your pointer over it.
If you are using this one then you may need to uninstall Reader and reinstall the newest version from scratch.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I am not using the browser or file/print (they are not even available to me). The only print option that surfaces is the phantom and it just fades in and out when I attempt to click on the print icon nothing happens and it fades away. I am still stumped.

Have you tried saving the PDF to your computer, then opening it in Adobe Reader and attempt to print it from there?

You've been helped by a 14 year old.

Why not try a system restore to BEFORE the problem and see if that works for you?

I thank you all for your ideas. I still have the problem and your suggestions haven't help YET. It may be related to FireFox so I am working on that side. I will come back with more information if the Firefox issue doesn't help. Thank you.
