First: Im logged in as the administrator (say for example my account is called "HomePC" and it is passwrod protected and setup as the administrator account) Ok the problem is i cant seem to access some of the files on the C drive which i used to be able to do wheni used the windows vista. For example i cant open the "documents and settings" folder or some of the folders in the USER dir. Any reason for this how do i change this.
THe other thing is twice now i have had problems loading windows as it says "BOOTMGR is missing" andit wont load at all, then i hearad weird like clicking noises coming from the PC box. I tried booting off the windows DVD but it didnt work. The next day i switched it on and it loaded. as normal. So what is causing this.
The clicking of the pc may be an evidance, that your hard drive is about to die.
You should have enable S.M.A.R.T. in the system BIOS.
So S.M.A.R.T. will give you a message, if there is a problem with the hard drive.
If you get such message, that says something like
"Hard Disk S.M.A.R.T. Status Bad, Backup and Replace".
If you get this message, you better backup and replace the hard drive, because mostly it a matter of very short time and the hard drive dies.
1- How old is the PC
2- Did the PC come with windows 7 or is it an upgradeThe clicking sound is usually the sign of a failing HD

You should not log on as admin. It leaves your computer subject to malware and virus. Always use a limited user account and if needed run programs "run as" or open with administrator using right click menu. Playing to the angels
