✔ Best Answer
Avoiding the office internet connection by using a seperate internet connection is a big security risk for the whole office network.

Your single computer may not be that secure, than the office network. So if you get infected by a virus, by using another internet connection, the virus can spread to the whole office network.

You may also avoid security policies of the office, which may free up one job.

I gave it a plus.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.

to get yourself fired do the following;

connect as you describe
remove the gateway entry from the office lan nic
now you can do both but you won't be going on the internet via its internet connection until you put the gateway entry back.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.
