twain device not found

August 18, 2012 at 01:02:08
Specs: Windows 7, 3.093 GHz / 1023 MB
Had a recent computer crash and replace the hard drive, install all devices and programs as before. Now when I am in a program that uses select twain source or acquire twain I get the message Twain device not found even though it is showing in the box. I have done all the drivers and such for the scanner I need to use. What can I do to get it working.

Thanks, Jim

Sounds like you haven't installed the "TWAIN driver" for your scanner. Download it from the scanner manufacturer's website but first make sure it's compatible with Windows 7.

If there's no TWAIN driver that's compatible, you can only scan from applications which use WIA (Windows Image Acquisition).
