TV is not displaying anything using DVI connection

Specs: Windows 7, Intel Pentium D 925
My monitor is connected to the VGA port and the TV is connected to the DVI port. The connector for the DVI changes to a HDMI cable which is plugged into the TV HDMI port. The TV is recognized, and I set the "monitors" up to duplicate each other. When looking at the Display Resolution screen, and applying the setup for duplicate, I then press OK and the Windows Explorer stops working and the TV does not duplicate the monitor. I have no idea what the problem could be.

Thanks Uncle Dewey

For an experiment, try disconnecting the monitor.

I have tried quite few things. I got another adapter in which I got tech help, but they could not do duplicate mode. I'm now working on using my TV's PC VGA port. I'm having a problem there which I believe is a TV problem. So we might as well close this thread.

Thanks, Uncle Dewey
