Specs: Windows 7
Hi, I have been trying t o help a friend get her desktop Dell Inspiron One touch screen, bought in 2010, back to factory settings. I have done it before on my Dell Inspiron560, with no problem and no disk needed. When I try to do it on hers, I do not get the Dell Data Safe restore on the screen, it is on my screen but not hers. Also she has lost the disks that came with her PC. Is there any way this c an be done without a disk? Another thing she never made a Restore disk when she first got her PC, and Im assuming because I have a different model, mine will not work on hers. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks-- Sandie

Most Dell OS restore disks will work on any other Dell machine (I'm assuming both your machine and hers originally had the same OS). You'll need the license number (which should be somewhere on her machine). After installation, you'll likely need to download drivers specific to the machine.
