troubleshooting images paste as icon in Word

August 1, 2010 at 22:07:08
Specs: Windows 7
When I try to cut/past or drag/drop an image from windows explorer to Word or Power\point (Office 2000), it shows up as a system icon with file name and extension underneath. I can get the image in using insert picture into both programs. Also .tif files copy/paste and drag/drop fine. I remember having this problem before with XP, and I somehow fixed it, but I don't remember how and can't figure it out. Any solutions?

Now that I think of it, Microsoft Office 2000 isn't so great with media. It is probably just embedding a link to the file. Insert picture is probably the best way to go anyway.
