Microsoft Windows 7 home premium 64-bit

Specs: Windows 7 Home 64 bit, Intel dual Core/4g
I have used Realtek HD Manager in windows 7 32 bit operating system with no problems. When I installed the driver for windows 7 64 bit and opened the Sound Manager, Stereo Mix did not appear in the options and Set Default device was not operative for any of the selections like mike and line -in. How do I get stereo mix to be recognised. I found this very frustrating and could not use my Hi-Q Recorder as the recording level was far too low.Any help would be appreciated please

You state you have used Realtek HD Audio Manager before. Did you need to program the ports in the past?

You may or may not be aware that the sound ports must be programed in order for them to work. Also, do not set any exclusive use settings.

I might add that Realtek customizes their drivers for each board manufacturer. It can be based on what features the board manufacturer wishes to utilize. Of course, there may be fees associated with every feature so manufacturers may pick and choose.

I suggest you contact the motherboard manufacturer for assistance if you feel certain features are not working correctly or are not available.

I assume you got the drivers you are using directly from the motherboard manufacturer and not from Realtek.
