trouble installing W7 from DVD image on laptp

Specs: wfw 3.11, amd celeron??/4gb??
i am having trouble reinstalling windows7home from a DVD image on a

toshiba satellite Multimedia laptop satellite L455-...

i wiped the HDD completely all partitions etc. everything
the HDD has been completely deleted

i just installed mandriva successfully and have a copy of wfw3.11 that i can't install (diskette problems) win95 on cd that i haven't tried installing yet and a few UBuntu et al. linux CDs ana a Solaris CD

i will try to install some of these until i remember how to do this

any input would be great/helpful as i have only done this once before and it was a while ago


I AM NOT COMPUTER LITERATE!!!
I have some technical background (electronics/RF/telecomm/et al.) but am not very good at fooling with complex switches (computers/PCs/...)

What did you use to create the image with? If you used the W7 image tools you would need to use the recovery Control Panel which you don't have.

If you can't access Control Panel, you can restore your computer using a Windows installation disc or a system repair disc (if you have one). If not you're screwed.

Last option contact Toshiba and purchase a set of recovery disks.

i put an image on DVD

it is just tricky to install from DVD

i have to select the correct options in the correct order

i forget what order to do it

i've successfully reinstalled the OS but it took a while to figure out how to do it
