Solved Transfer Windows settings to another computer

Specs: Windows 7
Ok, so I finally upgraded my PC from 7 to 10. I had to reinstall 7 to a new HDD and upgrade that fresh copy of 7 to 10. The original install of 7 wouldn't upgrade.

I have a laptop with 7 that I barely use. It can't upgrade to 10 cause of the video.

I used the PC for a lot of things.

I would like a quick way of putting all of the programs and settings onto the laptop. Quicker than remembering what I had and re downloading and installing.

I still have the original HDD with the 7 install to get a back up from. However, since it's the same licence I used the upgrade for, I can't really use that copy of 7.

I keep hearing that all you have to do is copy the settings, but I've never done that. I always start with a fresh OS install.

On that note, a second question:
Can I use the same backed up settings on multiple computers? So all of them would feel the same?

Thanks!

I keep hearing that all you have to do is copy the settings,

I think you kept hearing it from somewhere else other than this site. In any case copying settings from one machine to another will result in all types of BSOD.
