do a factory restore and then take it back to the store, its under warranty so stand there and demand a replacement not a fixed/recondistioned one, but a genuine 100% new item and try it in the store before you walk away.

1. Copy all your files and documents to an external storage device.
2. Shut down the computer.
3. Turn the PC back on and hit the F8 key repeatedly until the Advanced Boot Option Screen appears.
4. Click "Repair Your Computer" if you are not already on it and then press ENTER
5. choose your country and click OK
6. On the "System Recovery Options Screen" click "Restore Application" which is the last option.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions
8. When prompted, click on "Full Factory Recovery"
9. "Next"
10. Click "Yes"
11. you will notice for a while it seems like nothing is happening, give it some time.
12. After some minutes, recovery will complete and you click "Finish"

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

I have exactly the same problem after having two of this particular model. After a period of time it just resets itself, most commonly on battery power. The reseller wont swap mine out even after two months of buying it and there appears to be an inherrent problem with this model. I've done a factory reinstall and waiting on Toshiba to get back to me. I thought it was software related but none of the software has ever let me down in the past.

The following solution posted by Notsosure will most likely work for this problem, but if it is still under warranty then take it back to the seller or authorised service centre:
