Toshiba laptop will not boot up

Specs: Windows 7
Toshiba laptop won't boot up and has a black screen with a bunch of writing and says no bootable devise.It was shut down one nite and the next day when it was turned on it was like this.
It also made some kind of alarm sound when turned on.

That error indicates the motherboard does not see a hard drive with a bootable partition on it. I would find out the make and download the diagnostic ISO file to make a bootable cd and test the hard drive. If the hard drive is good it may be a matter of booting off the windows disk and attempting the startup repair. If a repair fails you may have to reinstall windows etc. If the hard drive is not seen in the bios of the computer it is likely it needs replaced. The alarm can be alot of things, but generally is heat related. You need to buy a can of compressed air and try blowing dirt out of the fan and make sure the fan is spinning....otherwise the unit will continue to burn out devices. Depending on your level of expertise it may be best to have a shop give you a repair estimate, some places offer free diagnostics/repair estimates. If the problem is more than just the hard drive, it may prove to be a costly repair.
