toshiba laptop startup problem

August 17, 2011 at 17:01:19
Specs: Windows 7, 2.10 GHz AMD Sempron (tm) SI-43
When i turn my computer on, it comes up to a windows error recovery page that says:

windows failed to start. A recent hardware or softwasre change might be the cause. If Windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, Startup Repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, choose Start Windows Normally.

When i choose to Launch Startup Repair, it just takes me to a black screen with a white cursor and i can't do anything.... but when i Start Windows Normally, it brings me back to the Windows Error Recovery page

try with a repair cd, if files are damaged on the hard drive a repair from the cd may help, http://cybernetnews.com/windows-7-r...

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorial...

if that fails, you will need a linux boot dvd/cd start in linux, do a disk check, save your files and then do a factory restore.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....

Hi,

Problems with the boot might cause startup issues in Toshiba Satellite laptop. The issues can be solved easily. The system can be booted from an alternate source. Booting from an alternate source might help to access the system. Once the system is accessed it is possible to rectify the issue easily.
