toshiba administrator password windows 7

Specs: Windows XP
I was trying to help a friend download free software (PPS Editor). The system (Windows 7)will not allow this because it requires and Admin Password to download the software and he does not know what it is. Now I have done this on two desk tops (XP's)with no problem and with no prompt for a Admin Password, so whats the diff...? Isn't there a DOS command that I can use to change or look at the Admin Password.? If so, where does the Admin Password reside.? I would rather not pay for the software to change/delete the password.

Thanks for your response....... this person is the owner and his dad is dead. He is trying to locate the paperwork on his laptop when he purchased it. Perhaps he might have that info (Admin Pass) on the paperwork.

Use Portableapps.com

Generally if it asks for admin password it carries a risk. Just because it is free, there may be spyware or malware attached.
