Took data drive from old XP - put in new Win7

Specs: Windows 7
Took data drive from my old XP machine and installed it in my new Win7 machine. Machine says it's "Foreigh". What to do?

If your new system uses SATA drive and the one you installed from XP machine is Pata (EIDE) you may need to adjust settings in BIOS.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Does the drive show up when you open up 'Computer'? Does it show up in disk management tools? Did you make sure that windows 7 was fully set up and running before you plugged it in the first time?
Try another data cable and make sure the power plug is fully inserted.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
