Hi,
I'm using a usb sound card, and using the line in, or mic to recieve audio from my tv (It doesn't have an audio out, I can only use the headphone socket).
I do this so I can have my tv/xbox/wii playing through my home system.
The problem is, it's too bassy, and the tv settings have no effect on the headphone output, and also, the soundcard has no effect at all on those inputs if I try to "equalize out" the bass.
I have tried many variations of questions in google for answers, but all I'm getting is dj mixers stuff and nothing close to what I'm looking for.

Find the USB sound device in your Device Manager and go to Properties. Dig through the tabs until you find the mic/line in Properties and adjust them as needed.

You should also be able to adjust the bass and treble from the sound card's Properties dialog as well.
