The problem is the system can for some reason no longer find the data on the hard drive to boot to.

See if hard drive is seen correctly in bios and that it is the first choice in boot order.

Might have to boot to windows dvd to see if repair tools help. I'd use a live cd to see if it can access the hard drive.

Might have to use memory tests and hard drive tests.

Hang up and live.

To add to #2 above, your computer is attempting to boot to a network device. As suggested, check the boot order. You MAY have a hard drive failure or Windows is corrupted.
