Techhead: I know you are trying to help, but remove your email address using the edit feature before a moderator does it for you. It may be against site policy but it will definitely get your email slammed.

Brew: Abobe products or at least their updater is starting with Windows which is not necessary. Run msconfig (Start>Run then type and run it) go to the Start Tab and uncheck all except Microsoft and your antivirus program, especially Adobe products. Apply and restart the machine. This will still allow it to be launched when you open a PDF say since Windows will launch the default program for the file you select without a problem, but it will stop it from starting with Windows and always running in the background. Doing this for most programs that launch with Windows will actually make your computer feel more responsive without so much always running. The idea was to have a program ready in the background for when you need it so it would be 'instant on', but with so many programs doing this, the result is typically that everything slows down and those updaters are the worst and most annoying of all. If a program is good, it only needs to be updated periodically, not all day long.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

It is just your computer trying to get to your adobe reader application. What you do if it asks you to update adobe click NEVER! If the error meassage still comes up delete adobe reader (because it might be a hacker) and download it again from ONLY THE ADOBE WEBSITE!

Hpe this help
