Specs: Windows 7, IntelQuadcore 2.8 GHz
How do I...Wanted to make a system restore point, but received the following error message:

There was an unexpected error in the property page:
System Restore encountered an error. Please try to run System Restore again.(0x81000203).

Don't know how to remedy this. Rerunning is clearly not an option.

Can anybody help me out ? Thanks in advance

✔ Best Answer
Are you trying to make a restore point, or restore to an existing restore point?
Windows 7 should automatically make a restore point each week and whenever you install a program or update, unless you have it turned off.
If you cannot make a new restore point, you might have to restore to an older restore point, make whatever changes you want, and then try making a new restore point if it does not make one for you.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Want to make a restore point, not recover from it.

Tried ControlPanel --> System --> SystemProtection the same error message appears.

Searched on "repair error 0x81000203" and found the following link.

I followed the suggestion to turn OFF the turbo mode that was put ON using Tune-Up Utilities 2013 without even the need for a restart and the problem was solved

It is not at all unusual for those magic tune-up programs to cause issues, sometimes more than they fix.

Thanks for info, whatever.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
