system reserved won't defrag

November 15, 2013 at 10:51:21
Specs: Windows 7
Over time my "system reserved" line three of my defrag schedule increases. when I click it to defrag is comes on fast and then goes back to like it is done but still is at the same number percent. it is now up to 22% fragmented. if this a normal thing of should it defrag like the other two lines.?

This defragger, used to be able to do the job, check out the latest version.

NOTE: If your drive is SSD ( Solid State ) you do not defrag it.

The System Reserved partition should not need defragging, are you using it for other reasons?

I have no idea what a system reserve is. How do I find out if inadvertently I am doing something to raise this number.? What sort of thing would go into this? I am a senior and don't know all there is to know. (then again, who does?)
for a long time it was around 8 or 9. Then it slowly has gone up till it is now 22%.

"I have no idea what a system reserve is"
You should never be left wondering, use Google.

"(then again, who does?)"
Exactly.

Just checked on a few comps I'm working on & their system reserve defrag level is zero.

" How do I find out if inadvertently I am doing something to raise this number.?"
That is a very big question & the one that needs addressing, I will need to come back to that later in my day, I'm here.

To try & get some clues, I will need to run some programs, starting with CHKDSK.
