Solved System Protection missing in windows 7 control panel

Specs: Windows 7
Because I can not access system protection in windows 7, I can not create system restore points. How do I fix this? Here's a screen shot of the windows 7 control panel. http://imgur.com/jnQQJzp

✔ Best Answer
This might be a workaround:

Make a desktop shortcut to System Properties with this target:
"C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesRemote.exe"

See if it gives a System Protection tab.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thanks Derek, at least now i can make system restore points although a minor correction: "C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesProtection.exe" not "C:\Windows\System32\SystemPropertiesRemote.exe"

Aha, I checked it out before I posted it but I'm using Windows 8.1. I should have tried it on Win 7 instead. I guess that's the difference so you did well to work it out.

EDITS:
Just checked, both versions work on Win 8.1. but only yours on Win 7.

Another way which might work is to just type System Restore in Search.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
