System Image doesn't recognize network HDDs

October 12, 2010 at 07:32:18
Specs: Windows Vista, quadcore
W7 Laptop & Vista Home Premium networked. "seeing each other" in network.
BUT when trying to create a system image from Laptop W7 it only does recognize DVD RW drive
on laptop and NOT HD's on PC (which are shared).

Thanks for any serious help
T.

Let me see if I understand your issue. You make a image and then restore it and it does not see previously seen network drives that are on another system.

Did I get that right?

What are you using to make the image?

Turn off the UAC (user account controls) in control panel/Users on both machines and make sure network discovery and file sharing are turned on. control panel/metworking.

I take it you are trying to backup the network shares via the win7 laptop?

If you are making a system image you will only get the local not networked drives
