Spelling Language in Windows 7 Professional

April 15, 2012 at 00:06:59
Specs: Windows 7
When I use the spell check in Outlook 2010 or Word the language changes during the course of checking the email/document from English (uk) to English (us). It moves back and forth from one language to another during the check without any discernible logic.

Because I am British I use the UK English langauge as many words in the US version are spelt differently and indeed many have very different meanings as well !

I have set the language options to English (UK), but this seems to make no difference.

Grateful for any advice on this mysterious glitch.

If it has only begin recently, try a system restore to before it began.
Since it is possible that malware is making small changes to your system for the sole purpose of being annoying to you, try running Malwarebytes to make sure this is not the case.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

I don't know if it's possible, but there might be some way to entirely uninstall the EN-US language from the Office Suite. After you go into Programs and Features, click on your Office Suite, the click "Change." After the window loads, click "Add or Remove Features." Then see if you can find the EN-US language anywhere.
