Solved SoundChanger not working

Toshiba Satellite c655-s5082 laptop
May 5, 2011 at 11:19:08
Specs: Windows 7, AMD 4 GB
This concerns an upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium in a 32 bit portable Toshiba with AMD Turion X2 Dual-Core Mobile RM-74 2.20 GHz, 4 GB RAM. Since the upgrade, at start up this warning shows on screen: "SoundChanger.exe stopped functioning"
While I am not aware of any problem when operating the computer, it would be nice to fix this issue and not be bothered by that warning again.
Can someone point to what went wrong and what remedial action to take?
The long description appended to the warning is:
Name of problem event: APPCRASH
Name of application: HCMSoundChanger.exe
Application version:
Application Timestamp: 4806aa2b
Name of module with errors: ntdll.dll

(Long description has been translated by me from a foreign language, as the upgrading was not effected in an English-speaking country.)
Thank you very much for any suggestion you may have. No need to advise to ask Microsoft, because I did just that without getting any help.

✔ Best Answer
Part of HDMI Control Manager from TOSHIBA Corporation This program is not important for your system process, but should not be terminated unless suspected to be causing problems.
you can go to the toshiba site and download the newest soundchanger drivers or stop the process from starting up, by opening msconfig/start/soundchanger and uncheck the startup process, if this stops the error but causes any other issues let us know.

i hate computers!
but cant help myself....
