Sound stops suddenly

June 2, 2010 at 20:22:30
Specs: Windows 7, Pentium E5200 Dual-Core 2.5 Ghz/4 GB
I have a Gateway DX4720 connected to my LCD
TV via HDMI. Everything was working fine until
my sound suddenly stopped during a DVD movie.
I've tried restarting, updating drivers, and
reinstalling drivers with no success. Any ideas?

Additionally, I've checked all connections and ensured nothing
was muted.

Have you checked Device Manager to see if there is any problem listed on your sound card?

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

Have you checked all of the plugs to your speakers, including the power plug/transformer (maybe you have a speaker problem, a transformer problem, or a power strip is turned off (or breaker popped)? Is there a power light on your speaker set?

thanks for the reply. I've actually got it running straight to the TV
via HDMI, so there are not external speakers.
