Sony Laptop Keyboard Not Working Properly

December 13, 2010 at 13:55:53
Specs: Windows 7
Some of my keys are not working. Specifically: r, y, u, 2, 4, 0, Left Ctrl, rightarrow, and the Num Lk. It's an E-series.

The same problem has happened to me twice before. The first time it was easily fixed by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Num Lk. The second time the same combination did not work but my keyboard sort of fixed by itself after leaving it for a night. This time nothing is working and more keys are not working too. For example the Num Lk.

All 3 times occurred while playing tetris (idiotically I didn't seem to learn my lesson), but the weird part is that I only use the arrow pad, the space bar, and c, and all those buttons seem to still work (besides the right arrow).

Use Task Manager to see if some part of Tetris is still running (or some related process) and shut it down. If that does not help. try restarting the computer.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
This site is about helping people, lets keep it that way.

Thanks for the reply but it's been a week already and I've been turning on and off my computer and even tried to reset my keyboard (not sure if I did it correctly), and the keys still don't work. I don't think I got anything stuck under those specific keys because those were also the keys that didn't work properly (did not show up until I clicked them around 4 times) the last time my keyboard messed up- meaning it's a little weird to happen by coincidence. And that I do not use any keys near those while playing tetris. I also looked under each key and they don't look at though there is a problem.
