how can i reset my samsung r519 laptop to factory settings,my son used a toshiba utility recovery disc and its gone wrong....i just need it restored to factory settings and i should be ok. hopefully it CAN be that simple

Your system should have had a recovery partition installed at the factory, check your manual for the key(s) you need to press at start up to access this. If the other recovery partition did not overwrite this you can then do a factory restore and get your machine back the the way it was shipped from the factory. If it was damaged or overwritten then you will need to get a recovery disk set from Samsung and use that. Any files that were on the system are probably already gone so advising you to back up would be useless.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Just to expand on what Fingers said.

Try the built in recovery with a F key at boot. See owners manual for exact means.

If all else fails.

They usually sell a replacement dvd for some reasonable fee.

1/3 of highway deaths are caused by drunks. The rest are by people who can't drive any better than a drunk.
