software not running right on Windows 7 HP desktop

Specs: Windows 7, 8GB
I own a HP (HPE-372f) with an intel Core i7 cpu 860 @ 2.80 ghz, 2801 mhz, 4 cores & 8 logical processors and windows 7 home premium. Lately when I try to run any programs I get the ""Open With" window to choose which program to open it with, and downloading anything is problematic because it won't load at all. I can get some programs to run if I run as system admin. Anyone have any ideas?

Try a system restore to a date when all was running right (you may need to check off 'show more restore points'). If you have trouble getting it to start, try it in Safe Mode. If it still will not run, then use Windows 7 Repair disk you should have made when the computer was new (It can still be made on another working Windows 7 machine as long as they are the same type (32bit or 63 bit)) and run the restore from there.
If the restore does not help, search this site for "Windows 7 file association fix". there are many.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
