Installed Sims 3 on new HP G62 laptop, and the game takes forever to load. In fact, it starts to load but never finishes.
You haven't given very much information about your problem. You should reply with your ram and processor speed. Did your computer have any software pre-installed? I would recommend getting rid of everything that isn't tied to a specific hardware function ofyour device, then install the software you need. SIMS 3 requires a very fast processor and a lot of RAM, so you should make sure your laptop meets the requirements.
it is a new hp g62 laptop with an i3 intel processor and 4 gb ram. laptop came pre installed with windows 7 and the standrd hp stuff. it is a pre configuration - hp 62-144dx.
it has an intel hd graphics with shared grphics memory. do i need a different card?
Sims is also pretty graphics intensive so a dedicated graphics card with dedicated graphics memory would be advisable, but you may not be able to add one now (it's not typically an option on laptops after purchase). A quick look shows Intel graphics using shared memory, so it might be a problem running, but that should not effect installing. I do not know if the version of Sims you are installing is windows 7 compatible, so I would ask that if anyone has any specific experience with this combination to add their thoughts. Maybe you can check the publisher's website on that also.
