Do you mean the lens covers that protects the lens when the camera is is not in use. If you can see this "shutter" in front of any glass then it is a lens cover. The shutter is on the inside of the lens ans is normally difficult to see. The shutter should only open when you press the shutter release button to take a photograph and then only for a fraction of a second.

If it is the lens cover then it is a minor problem that you will have to live with. It is probably not worth the expense to have it fixed and it is not something you can fix yourself.

Hardly a computer problem but she would be best advised to either contact Nikon or a reputable camera technician. It sounds as though the protective slide in front of the lens is sticking.
