Setting default program for Windows 7

October 21, 2010 at 19:57:28
Specs: Windows 7
I have my Adobe CS4 and I am using this application for my work but because sometimes I need CS5 I also installed the program. The problem is want CS4 to be the default program for all my files but it never works in windows 7.

I tried the "open with" and find the location of the old version but still CS5 is always the default.

The same with the control panel there is no way to change the default version for my files.

Anyone knows how to fix this?

In the 'Open With' box, did you check off the 'always open this type of file....' check box?
Look in Control Panel>Default Programs>Set Your Default Programs. This should give you the option you need.
Look in the CS4 for: 'Options' or 'Program Options' and look for anything that says anything like: 'Set defaults on file types' or similar.
Contact Adobe support for their advice via email support on their website.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
If all else fails, read instructions.

I tried all your suggestions but still CS5 appears the default and also CS5 is not listed in 'Set defaults on file types'.

I am now waiting for the adobe's reply.

I looked for any solution for this but failed to find even one.
