Send, Reply, Forward buttons all greyed out on Outlook 2007

Specs: Windows 7
On my Outlook 2007, the Send, Reply, Reply All, Forward and New Message buttons are all greyed out. This means that I can't do anything except receive messages in Outlook and I have to go via the website (optuszoo webmail) to send, when before I could always send via Outlook. Does anyone have any idea why this is?

First make a backup copy of your existing outlook.pst file and save it somewhere else (My Documents or on the Desktop for example). On Windows 7 you'll find it here:
C:\Users\<my user account name>AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.pst

Now re-install Outlook.

If messages and contacts are missing, copy your backup outlook.pst back to the same location you copied it from before, overwriting the one that's already there.
