Specs: Windows 7
Hi, since moving to Windows 7 and IE8, I am unable to access a number of sites, including Amazon, eBay and Play.com, through any of the above browser. I click to login, but the login page never loads it just hangs. Strangely I can login to internet banking sites without a problem. I have tried lowering security settings, enabling Active X and disabling add ons, to no avail. I am not running any additional firewalls as yet. Just AVG 9 antivirus.
Can anyone help (please). Much appreciated, Niel

Are you saying when you log in to e-bay etc? Your post is confusing.

Try another browser like google chrome

and see if you still have the same problems.
If you think it's IE giving you trouble just open IE, click on tools/internet options/advanced and then click on the reset button to reset internet explorer, see if that makes a difference.

IMO AVG is not as good as Avast Free:

You may want to try it.

Hi
Thanks for your quick response.
sorry if my post is confusing. I can load the eBay homepage but when I click to login to my account, the login page fails to load I just get a blank page. I have tried Chrome, Firefox and IE8 the symptoms are all the same (blank page). Same happens when trying to login to my Amazon account or Play.com account.
Will try Avast Free, thanks :-)

I have another question for you. It looks like you put in it was an upgrade to Windows 7. Does that mean from Vista? Was Norton or McAfee installed previous to AVG? If so, did you use their uninstallers from their respective websites to clear out all the registry entries loaded up from those bulky resource hogs?

If you didn't, that would cause major conflicts. Just a thought.
