Solved Searching for a better browser

Microsoft / Windows 7 enterprise sp1(...

Specs: Windows 7, 4096 D MMb
Hi everyone. I'm using Firefox but it hangs more often than working. Outlook Express doesn't work on Win 7. Any ideas what other browsers I could try. Highly appreciated.

When was the last time you did something for the first time?

These two small freebies from MalwareBytes often find what anti-virus programs miss. Run AdwCleaner first:

AdwCleaner:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcle...
Download and "Save" the file somewhere. Go to the saved file then double click it to run the program. Run the "Scan", followed by the "Clean & Repair".

MalwareBytes:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/
(use the "Free Download" button rather than the "Buy Now" button).
After the install go to "Settings > Protection". Under Scan Options move the "Scan for rootkits" slider over to On and Run the Threat Scan. Quarantine anything it finds.

If either of them find something please copy/paste the associated logs on here.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Hi again Dawie.

I use this one as default.

Pale Moon
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Intern...
http://www.freewarefiles.com/Pale-M...
http://www.freewarefiles.com/screen...
http://www.palemoon.org/palemoon-wi...
64-bit
http://www.palemoon.org/palemoon-wi...

I use Bluhell Firewall
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-Us/fi...
This is a lightweight extension (ie, 30KB compared to ~700KB of other popular adblockers), which was made with performance in mind. No configurable options, subscriptions, additional features, etc It just blocks what can go to hell ;-)

Outlook Express is an email program not a browser.

As John says, you have something going on - thousands of folk use Firefox without any issues.

" I'm using Firefox but it hangs more often than working"

Could be a problem with the browser, could be a problem with your system. Not enough info provided to determine which. Start with the two programs listed by Derek in response #10 & add CCleaner-Slim to the list as well: https://www.techspot.com/downloads/...

This tool should reveal what is really going on.

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it onto your Desktop. If your default download location is not the Desktop, drag it out of it's location onto the Desktop.

If we have to run Farbar more than once, refer this SS.

Note: You need to run the version compatible with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them. Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.
Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
Press Scan button.
It will make a log (FRST.txt) on the Desktop.
The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt) on the Desktop.
The logs are large, upload them using one of these. No time delays/Captcha-I'm not a Robot/account/registration needed. Give us the links please.

ALL of the above recommendations are good to find and clear out the junk bogging you down.
I also found that you should set Flash Player in Firefox addons to 'Ask Before Activation' (or disable if not needed) because I found that many web pages use Flash to send over system hogging ads and junk.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

Johnw my apologies if I seem not to complete things. Truth is my real problem stems from a very inferior ADSL telephone line. I did download and used the software suggested but more than that is slightly above me. Still appreciate you guys' input.
