Screwed up folder icons

Microsoft Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit

Specs: Windows 7
I recently performed a scan for problems on a
secondary disk. Ever since my folders have been
acting really weird

Damendan, After you tried those possible fixes did you restart your computer? What Folder View do you have it set to? Thumbnails, Details, Icons. etc.

I tried the first one, rebooted. then the second one and rebooted.
nothing. Don't know what view it is, i can see a preview of the
content of the folder, and i think it's thumbnails.

When i change the size of folders to small and then back to
large, they return to normal. This goes away after a short while
though

Try this:

Turn off Caching of Windows 7 Thumbnails in Hidden thumbs.db Files.

Restart your computer after trying the above.
