Screen is lit but blank on startup. PC seems to be working, but no screen output. Why is this? Could it be a connection and how easy is it to fix?

Symptoms unusual - not too easy to say.

It could be the connection between the computer and the screen. The connectors can get loose either end or the cable can go bad where the lid hinges. With the computer on try slowly lowering the lid to nearly closed. If anything changes on the screen it will be what I've suggested. The screen itself is another possibility.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Does your netbook have a vga connection (blue socket) if so try an exterior monitor. You can also do a search for Netbook screen invertor. Don't get distracted by power invertor. Other people are having your problem and a Googles search is easy to find what their doing. I'll give a web site for screen repair videos --------- http://search.aol.com/aol/video?q=N...

Thank you Derek. Already tried lowering the screen, but no change in display. Guess it must be the screen itself. It's out of warranty so we'llt take a look later on. I hooked it up to a a monitor and the pc seemed to work fine.

Thanks again.

Yep that sure proves the display module and software is OK. If you are happy inside you might be lucky and find a connector has worked loose at one end or the other. It's not easy to say whether it is the screen itself that is faulty or the cable.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
