The manufacturer (Microtek) has not released a Windows 7 driver for the ScanMaker 3800, and if they haven't released a driver by now that means they will never release one for that model.

However, if it connects to your PC by USB, you might be able to use some third-party generic software called "VueScan" which will avoid having to buy a new scanner. That's what I did.

You can try VueScan for free to check that it works with your scanner. If it works you can buy it. Get it here:

The only other option is to buy a new scanner.

Check this:

This is a paid driver utility. They usually have the uptodate device driver/s and technical experts for online support help. Their job is to locate/collect device driver/s which some manufacturers do not download on its usuall site.

Hey wisemen
Just run your Scanner in Administrator mode using the compatibility option. I have many scanners and printers and other software that i run in compatibility mode....that's the great thing about windows 7....

Driver finder programs are usually snake oil (free or otherwise). If you really need drivers get them from your equipment manufacturer.
