Solved Sage ACT! Pro 2011 Error: The database could not be accessed

Specs: Windows 7
Receiving the error message, "The database could not be accessed. In order to access this database, check your network connection and verify that your database server is available. It may be necessary to disable any firewall software..."

I am using Act Pro 2011

EDIT:
Could just be that the database server is undergoing maintenance so it's worth checking tomorrow before trying to resolve this.

Is this running over a network? Check with your admin to see if ACT! is started on the server.
