Running a cross network backup on shut down

Hi there,

Have written a little script that uses xcopy to back-up files from my main computer on to a USB HD but also across the network to one of my other computers.

I have configured my computer through gpedit so that the script is executed when I shut down the computer. The script works just fine for both the USB HD and the network back up if I run it when my computer is on, and it also works fine for copying files to the USB drive "on shut down" but it doesn't however work across the network on shut down.

I can see that the script starts because my laptop HD starts flashing like crazy but then even though it isn't finished copying windows shuts down...this doesn't happen when I have the USB drive connected, in that situation it waits for the copying to be finished before it shuts down....any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Cheers,
Mikael

Is mapped drive persistent?

Set a timer in the script to allow the task to finish or test it by some method then shutdown.
