Solved restoring an image for a new drive

Specs: Microsoft Windows 7 Professionnel, 2.83 GHz / 4096 MB
Hi!
I want to install a new drive using driveimage xl to image my old drive. Can i make a clean install of win 7 on my new drive, then install drive image to get my image back on top of my newly install win 7?. I'm having a hard time finding a good receipe. Thanks!

Using Drive Image will over write anything existing on the hard drive so there is no sense installing a new version of Win 7, just to over write it with an image

If you create the drive image using the Windows 7 back up section, you can use your Windows 7 Repair Disk (also made in the back up section) to boot to and restore the image to the new drive.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
