Specs: Windows 7
Windows 7 is running but no display- Windows is running bcuz we can access shared files on one of our networked computers. Windows icon appears but when it goes to display it is a black screen. This is an ASUS Notebook. I did a restore right before this happened since I had lost my Admin Capabilities somehow. Running Windows 7 Home Premium

Try booting to Windows Safe Mode with Networking by tapping F8 immediately when you start the computer. Once in safe mode, check Device Manager to see if there are any issues there.

You probably should run AntiVirus and malware scans.

It sounds like you have it set to display to an external display only. I'm not familliar with which key combinations switch the display on an ASUS notebook but your manual should tell you.

Will not display in safe mode and external monitor switch did not work either. We are back to square one but thanks for options to try. I had an issue with a virus I believe that removed your ADMIN file. I found the instructions on how to repair that and it booted fine. I even set up an additional Admin user without any issues. I then rebooted and had the hidden display issue

In that case you may have trashed the registry. You may want to use a live version of Linux to recover any files you need and then perform a factory restore.

Did you TRY using an external monitor?

If you have sharing enabled it might be possible to repair the issues remotely.
