Contact HP tech support on this problem.

It's been my experience most manufacturers like dell or HP put a "windows authenticity" sticker on the computer. That sticker has the activation key on it.

Does your computer/laptop not have one of these on it?

I am the captain of my soul.

Xp': That's why I recommended contacting HP since there is either a problem or something else is fishy. HP can help if they did something wrong but would require s/n &/or proof of purchase/ownership.
