Specs: Windows 7
I bought a used computer. I can log in to guest username and password. I do not have the administrative username and password. I can save my documents but I cannot update or install new software due to the need of administrative access. I do have the product key. How can I reset the adminitrative username and password with out a down of a password recovery.
I have Windows 7 professional, don't know if its 32 or 64 bit.

Though I do believe that requires a download.

The easiest way would be to just contact either the previous owner or whoever sold you the computer.

You don't have to download anything for a password reset disk...though I think you'd have to be logged in as an admin to create it. (Haven't used Win7 in ages)

And you can find out your product key here:

I do suggest you thoroughly read the first paragraph of the first article I linked.

Since the computer is new to you check to see if it has a recovery partition you can boot to. That will wipe everything out and you can start fresh. The boot options in cmos/bios setup may show it or check the system manual

Don't forget to preorder your Hatch green chili for this fall. Many vendors ship world-wide. Better hurry. They're picking and shipping now.
